A new beginning......

Like a clean sheet of paper, the first day of school or new house, a new blog feels like a fabulous fresh start.  It has literally been years since I abandoned my former blog…..abandoned being the operative word. I can't quite pinpoint why I quit blogging but I surmise life simply got in the way. To the best of my recollection, I haven't blogged in over seven years & so very much has happened in that time ~ graduate school, a new career, debilitating illness, subsequent healing & poof... my babies have suddenly morphed into the most amazing teenagers. (I realize "amazing teenagers" sounds like an oxymoron but it really is true!) In fact, it has been so long since I blogged that I can't even seem to access my former account. However, it only seems fitting that I start anew. 

Let me share a little about myself.  I am very blessed to be married to an amazing man. Not only is he an incredible husband & father, he proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for over 21 years.  I have two amazing teenagers, who truly are the joy of my life!  I was born & raised in Ohio which has ensured that I will be a lifelong, self-professed Buckeye fan.  After several years living in Europe, we have now called Alaska home for the last 20 years.  I have been blessed with a wonderful career teaching 8th grade in our fabulous little town & I truly couldn't be happier.  I love to read, cook, hike & snowshoe, however my biggest passion is travel. In a perfect world, I would travel somewhere new every week……maybe someday! A  girl's gotta have dreams.

Lastly, let me explain the origin of my blog name.  I believe we are all responsible for making the most of the One Life with which we've been blessed.  And when you live in Alaska, everywhere other than Alaska….whether it be Seattle, New York or Texas... is referred to as "Outside."  Therefore, my blog will chronicle "This One Life…Inside.”
